Home/Low-Volume Production
Service

One part to hundreds, made in one San Jose shop.

Short-run production without tooling cost, minimum-run commitments, or a six-week wait to find out the design changed.

There is an awkward band between "we need three" and "we need fifty thousand". Below it, everyone will help you. Above it, injection molding is obviously right. In the middle, tooling costs more than the parts and the lead time is measured in weeks you do not have.

When FDM is the right production process

  • The design is still moving. Tooling punishes change; printing does not care.
  • Annual volume is modest. If you need forty a year, amortizing a mold over them is a bad trade.
  • The part is large or hollow. Geometry that would need a big, complicated tool prints as easily as a small one.
  • You need parts now. Bridge production keeps a product shipping while the real tooling is cut.
  • Variants matter. Five configurations of the same part cost five files, not five tools.

How pricing behaves as quantity grows

Quantity pricing is applied automatically in the estimator: change the quantity from 5 to 25 and the per-part price steps down at each break point as you type. Nothing to negotiate, nothing to ask for.

Orders start at a $30 minimum, which exists so that a two-dollar part does not cost more to invoice than to make. Beyond that there is no minimum run, no per-order setup fee to absorb, and no pressure to round your quantity up to somebody else's batch size.

Repeatability across a run

Production parts are made from the same file, the same material and the same profile every time. For as long as a job is open we hold the exact CAD it was priced from, so a repeat order builds the revision you approved. If a part is going to recur, tell us and we will note the setup so run two matches run one.

Planning a run

Lead time in the estimator is calculated from the real print time for your geometry and quantity, so a bigger run reports a longer estimate rather than a marketing number. You are then shown four turnarounds for that same job, from Ultra Fast down to Eco, with the price of each one beside it, and you pick. Nothing is hidden behind a phone call. If you need it by a fixed date, say so when you send the estimate and we will confirm it during review.
